Check you out God (poem)

Check you out God
willowing by the creek
grassing with the blackbirds,
excited by the coming storm
stone walling by the edge of the field
selling roses where the traffic eddies
your rain slick with your water in your pack

Keeping us at bay, at bay, at bay
waiting for us – one by two
to find our way

won’t be today

Rain!

the sun ...

This came down one of Anna's "streams" today:

" This reminds me of when I was doing construction in New Mexico. One icy morning, I was digging a trench with two men from Mexico. The sun rose and began to warm us up. One of them points to the sun and says, ¨la cobija de los pobres´. This meant that the sun is the blanket of the poor.

Father BMW (poem)

3rd and Callowhill

Father BMW
Who starched your collar this morning
Pure as the host
Bless’d be thou
The flock that footed the bill
For your shiny black

You could see from the street
In the set of his face
Serene
A clear, clear conscience
And his car, so clean

That all was well

It’s you and I, out here, who might be headed to Hell
